We pride ourselves on delivering premium products that have stood the test of time. Gibco has manufactured non-failure, non-toxic, liquid and dry cement admixtures for the last 40 years. Founded by A.E. “Gene” Gibson, a general contractor, and president of the Association of General Contractors. Gibco then rose to prominence through son and co-founder Mark Gibson.
Gene’s purpose was to deliver an easy to use, and safe alternative to lime used in cement applications. Lime is added to cement to create workability but is limiting because of its tendency to shrink mortars during the curing process, and handling hazards. Through trial Gibco’s mortar and plaster admixtures were formulated. ASTM testing was then conducted and concluded that mortars using Gibco’s admixtures superseded all requirements of both hardened and plastic states of cement-lime mortars.
Our admixtures are derived from organic polymers compounded to enhance the mechanical characteristics of cement applications. Gibco’s admixtures dispersing properties create uniform separation of aggregates in cement sand compounds.The uniform separation allows for a reduced water content, which increases the mechanical strength while maintaining workability.
Lower water content also reduces permeability in turn reducing bleeding and fighting sulfate attack. Other constituents of our admixture’s promote air entrainment which is fundamental in resilience through out freeze thaw cycles. Building strong customer relationships is the cornerstone of our business and has fostered building projects in the United States and around the world in both residential and commercial sectors. PLASTER
GIBCO'S® PRF is a chloride free liquid admixture designed for plaster, stucco and decorative relief applications. Plasticizing characteristics allow PRF to replace lime, clay, and other plasticizers entirely, and lend hand to substantial savings with one gallon replacing up to 2,000 lbs. (50 cft.) of lime.
DRY ADMIXTURE
GIBCO'S® DRY admixture is formulated from organic polymer compounds. The compounded solution is then dehydrated to produce a dry free flowing powder advantageous "but not limited to" the pre-mixed Mortar, Masonry, and Plaster industries.
